I’d Like To Teach The World To … Find Peace

  Albert Einstein tells us that:

One cannot solve a problem with the same level of consciousness that created it.

Here in the Indigo Tent, we are on a constant journey toward connecting more with our higher selves.  One of the roadblocks we encounter on that journey comes in the form of problems – big ones and small ones that eat away at our ability to think. Problems that rob us of finding peace and so we start to feel scrambled. Join us in the Tent as we attempt to ‘unscramble’ our thoughts and let’s dance together to rise to a higher level of consciousness.

Problems and Solutions

We all have problems and we all have solutions.  However, we can’t begin to solve a problem while we’re stuck in the symptoms.  In the words of Henry Ford:

“What’s right about America is that although we have a mess of problems, we have great capacity—intellect and resources—to do something about them.”

We are all troubled by the tragic death of anyone, especially at the hands of those who are meant to protect us.  To examine the death of George Floyd, the peaceful protests, the destruction of property, the attacks on local shop owners and bystanders……. takes courage!  We have to reflect and be willing to Zoom IN and then Zoom OUT.  The Tsunami of 2004 taught us that we can come together to solve massive problems even if they are far away and impact a culture different than our own.  Symptoms are clues, clues that cause us to dig deeper into a situation that is asking us to understand from a more holistic vantage point.  Before we point fingers of blame, problems need to be first understood.

Finding Understanding

So, how can we even begin to recognize the problems?  We have to make space for understanding, we have to gather enough of a perspective to be CURIOUS!!!  Remember the interview with Tali Ben David, the bias expert?  She encouraged us to listen, to be curious and to be willing to change the perspective.  This comes from admitting bias, discerning where it comes from, and then begin the work from within.  We all have to be willing to change before we go out and react out of fear. We have to curate a different perspective by ZOOMING IN first before we ZOOM OUT with solutions.

We hope that this is a catalyst that blossoms forth to help us find a new level of center.  We all need to become pioneers of kindness – seekers of a better way of living.  So first and foremost, be true to your higher self.  Next, we want to offer a simple and lovely solution, a remedy that involves a little dancing!!!!  Remember the song  “I’d like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony”?    Dr. Wendy has always wanted to teach the world to dance in perfect harmony!  Get ready for a fun activity that brings a little peace and unity.

Moments with your Higher Self

Carefully curated activities – we’re educators, we know that reflection on a topic (homework) works and these activities can help us share even more moments with our higher self.

As we seek the space to begin understanding problems, we allow for a sense of peace. My most cherished form of experiencing peace is through the community building form of folk dance. Especially the dance called Manavu – a beautiful Israeli expression of Isaiah 52:7. The words are: “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace…” When we dance together in a community, we create peace, from within and around us. Join in a dance for peace! Share with us your videos and photos for dancing in peace.

  1. Peace – such a lovely and thought provoking podcast! My company has had several town halls on the recent events and is strongly encouraging us to have discussions and get involved. It is overwhelming to me as I am the only female on the team and the only one born and raised in the US. It is hard to be vulnerable- yet this podcast has laid it out in a beautiful way and now I feel like I can contribute to a meaningful conversation with confidence – thank you ? love the pics and was honored to be there ??
